A Wheatstone 56 key extended treble-extended up from the treble not down.
It is exactly the same size as a 48 key and you wouldn't notice that it wasn't if it was put into your hands.
It doesn't have a number stamped into the label on the left hand side-at least I can't see it-but I suspect it is around 1930 because it has a riveted action and the later labels so it must be at the very end of top period when they made the best concertinas.
It certainly does play like it is from that era. It has great responsive reeds and a lovely action and sound.
It has been fully restored with new pads, valves, straps, bushings, an end refinish and a brand new set or quality leathyr bellows.
The only thing to mention is that whoever played it in the past must have had long nails and there are worn areas around some buttons where the wood has been grooved by someone's nails. We got most of it out but it is around eight of the buttons and it is such a place that it is almost certainly a Salvation Army instrument where all the wear is always on the bottom 24 buttons as they really only used chords in that region.
One of a huge range of English concertinas -most of which are not listed-so ask if you are looking for something special-we might have it and nobody is more likely to get it!
