Make : Lachenal
Model : 48 Key Treble
Price : £1300
This is a decent 48 key Lachenal No 41388-which would be around 1900.
It is basically a Paragon model with rosewood ends, metal buttons, steel reeds but it has a metal plate added around the buttons which is quite attractive but was primarily to stop the wood from being marked by either constant use -or more likely-longer fingernails.
I recenty bought it from a collector and it was half restored with new pads and straps but I have replaced the valves and tuned it to concert pitch.
I noticed inside a big repairers stamp-I think it was Envoy Worthington-and I have a feeling that it has been professionally increased from 5-6 fold by them in the past but it is a good job.
It plays well -is in good condition and seems to be robust.
