A beautiful Connor 38 key anglo.
It has metal ends and buttons, steel reeds and 7 fold bellows.
It is a relatively new instrument- I have no idea when it was made but it has been serviced by Alan Davies -a good restorer from Nottingham-it has his mark inside dated 2004. I have gone over it again especially to touch up the tuning as it had gone slightly out of tune since Alan did the work.
It comes in its original Connor hard case.
This model is unique to Connor and the scalloped edge work is attractive and unique to him.
It is in fantastic condition and Connor's bellows on anglos are as good as you can get and harder wearing than any other make.
The one thing I have to mention is that it is heavy. John's concertinas were always strongly built and durable but that does incur weight. It is probably heavier than almost any normal-sized 38 key. This is not really a problem if you play with the concertina on the knee but it would be uncomfortable to play standing up.
One thing about the solid build is that he-of all the makers-got a concertina that sounds quite Jeffries like-and if that is what you are looking for-without Jeffries price labels-this should interest you.
It is a good concertina=plays well , sounds and looks great and is extremely solid and hardwearing.
Just one of a huge range of top anglos-hardly any of which are on the website so always ask if you are looking for something special-it is more likely to be here than anywhere else
