This concertina has been soldType : English
Make : George Jones
Model : 48 Key Treble
Price : £750
A very sweet Jones treble-ideal for a learner who wants a cheaper -but not too basic-concertina.
It is numbered 26700 and is dated somewhere as 1885.
It has rosewood ends, bushed bone buttons,(the bushing is crucial as it stops the buttons clicking and the bottom level instruments don't have it), brass reeds and 5 fold bellows.
It has been restored with new pads, valves, straps, bushings and has been tuned to concert pitch.
It comes in its original wooden case-which has a key. It fits well but the new straps are bulkier than the original ones so it only just closes. Hopefully this will become easier with time.
It is a quick, even player and a joy to handle.
It isn't very loud but has a tone that almost everyone would like.
Just one of a large range of starter English concertinas.
