Just in-a lovely Wheatstone 48 key No 20922 made in 1899. It has rosewood ends, metal buttons, steel reeds and 4 fold bellows.
It is in immaculate condition for a concertina that is 120 years old. In fact it almost looks like it has never been played. There is no wear around the buttons-the ends and sides are unmarked and the bellows are first rate.
It has been fitted with new pads, straps, valves and tuned to concert pitch.
This instrument is of the riveted reed period when Wheatstone's concertina reeds had a tongue held in place by a rivet-not a clamp. this + the leather baffles which are still in place -give it a gentle sound-but a quick, light action.
Four fold bellows are almost always found on this model but as these are in such great condition there is enough air to play with.
A truly lovely instrument-probably not for sessions but certainly great for playing in small groups or singing with.
Just one of hundred of concertinas in stock-most not shown on the site-so ask if you are looking for something special.
