A lovely Edeophone Maccann No 4266 c 1926.
This fantastic Edeophone was made at the very peak of Lachenals quality-at least with the top instruments-it is not true of the budget models.
It has metal ends, metal buttons, steel reeds and a set of 8 fold bellows.
It has been fitted with new pads, valves, straps and tuned to concert pitch.
It came in as near to pristine condition as you could expect for a larger concertina with just some small amount of discolouration on the metal where the palm sits-and a lightening of the black finish on tiny areas of the bellows and wood where it sat on the players knee.
On the subject of the player-it came with an image of a young man playing it-sadly not named. I have kept the original image for my collection but have put a copy in the case-which is quite worn and has lost its strap-but could easily be restored by a good leather worker.
This looks great, plays great and has a fantastic set of reeds, You won't find many as good.
One of a large range of Duets-very few of which are on the website so ask if you are looking for something special.
