|Type : Anglo|
Make : Unknown-Possibly Crabb
Model : 26 Key in Bb/F
Price : £900
A concertina I bought using images. I thought I was buying a Jones 26 key-and it could be-but when I opened it I found that it was nothing like a normal Jones inside-it was far more like a Jeffries or Crabb in style.
Jeffries and Crabb wooden-ended instruments do have quite crude fretwork but a Jeffries would be stamped with the maker's name so I guess that it is most likely to be a Crabb.
It has bushed bone buttons, rosewood ends, steel reeds and 6 fold bellows.
It has been restored with new pads, valves, straps-it has been bushed and has had a new set of quality 6 fold bellows added.
As this all shows -it has had a lot of wear but is surprisingly sound and plays really well with a great tone.
I must mention that the buttons on the left hand side are slightly tilted to the left-this could be because the fretwork has moved slightly against the action board-or it could have been made that way.
As I say-it plays well with a great tone and is perfect if you are looking for a decent playing Bb/F without breaking the bank.
Just one of a huge range of anglos in stock but not on the website -so ask if you are looking for something special.
