|Type : Anglo|
Make : Lachenal
Model : 26 Key in C/G
Price : £950
A lovely 26 key anglo in rosewood.
It is labelled "Walch and Pohl, Music Sellers, Barrow" but it is obviously a Lachenal No 55835.
It has bone buttons, steel reeds and 5 fold bellows.
It has been restored with new pads, straps, valves and tuned to concert pitch.
I think it was made in the mid 1880's from other ones I have found with dates inside.
For an instrument of that age it is in remarkable condition. As usual it has some tiny cracks in the rosewood-but you won't find one of that period without them-and there are way fewer than usual-the bellows are in exceptional condition for the period and the reeds are very good.
It looks well and plays very well and has enough notes for almost every traditional tune-which of course isn't true for 20 keys.
A great instrument for someone progressing from a 20 key or from a modern, accordion -reeded cheap copy.
Just one of loads of anglos in stock.
