A Victorian concertina-unlabelled. I think it is most likely to be a Rock Chidley but one of my restorers has put one of my labels in it for fun.
It has rosewood ends, bushed bone buttons-the bushing is crucial as it keep the action quiet-brass reeds with some nickel replacements and 5 fold bellows.
The concertina has been restored with new pads, valves, straps and tuned to concert pitch.
It comes in its original case -which has not been restored like the instrument.
It plays well for a cheap. budget model concertina. It is faster than the very cheap models and has a lovely gentle tone-but it would not be loud enough for sessions.
A bargain at the price.
