A mid-Victorian English concertina by Rock Chidley.
It is number 2354-sadly I have no idea of actual date for this company.
It has bushed bone buttons, rosewood ends, nickel silver reeds and 6 fold bellows.
It has been restored with new pads, valves, straps-and the lovely new bellows.
The ends have been restained and re-bushed-it looks beautiful. It not only has nickel silver reeds -which were described as "drawing room" reeds-in other words-mellow and quiet -but it also has wooden baffles-so it really is VERY mellow and quiet.
If you want to sing with a concertina-or not annoy the neighbours- it might be great for you but it would not be a session instrument.
