Make : probably Rock Chidley
Model : 48 Key Treble
Price : £650
A mid Victorian concertina that came in as a part exchange recently. It didn't have a label but it is likely to be a Rock Chidley. The guy who restored it had a little joke and made a label with my name and address on it-but I wasn't around when it was made-even if I do look like I was!
It has bushed bone buttons-important because they aren't as noisy as unbushed buttons, brass reeds with a few steel replacements I was told-and 5 fold bellows +_original case.
It has been fitted with new pads, valves , straps and tuned to concert pitch.
It is in tidy condition with a decent set of bellows. There are a couple of minor cracks in the left hand fretwork but they are not structural and you have to expect that with instruments of this age.
