This is a Wheatstone 48 key treble concertina which I lent some years ago to Greg Russell-twice BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner. I t was used on three tracks on his C.D -"The Call" and was used at every gig for a couple of years.
It has rosewood ends , metal buttons, steel reeds and 6 fold bellows. Obviously it plays well or it wouldn't have been used in the way it was.
I lent it to him because it played great but had a couple of cosmetic issues-which it still does. There is a tiny piece of fret missing on the right hand side and it was originally a 4 fold bellow concertina but it was increased to 6 by the addition of two folds in the middle. This wasn't done by some novice but factory done and there is no playability issue-it is just that you can't easily match greens and you can notice the colour difference if you look closely at it.
A great concertina-and a good story!
